Vertical Silence

The work was imagined after a mountain storm, when mist remains between the cliffs and the landscape is revealed in fragments. A standing figure emerges within that vertical environment, appearing less like an object placed in the valley and more like another formation shaped by it.

The open hand introduces a subtle human gesture within the monumental scene. Vertical Silence represents steadiness that remains available during periods of uncertainty. It does not promise that the mist will disappear immediately; instead, it suggests that presence and direction can exist before complete visibility returns.

The standing posture symbolizes readiness, dignity, and active presence. One raised hand conveys reassurance and the release of fear, while the lowered hand suggests openness and generosity.

The stone pillars represent endurance and the long perspective of nature. Their height reduces the importance of immediate concerns, placing them within a wider scale. Mist symbolizes uncertainty and transition, while the vegetation growing across stone expresses life’s ability to continue within difficult conditions. The vertical composition itself suggests alignment—a movement from grounded physical experience toward expanded awareness.
