Stillness Beyond Form

Stillness Beyond Form

Description

Stillness Beyond Form portrays a meditating Buddha gradually dissolving into a luminous field of stars, blue nebulae, and golden light. The contrast between grounded physical form and infinite space creates a quiet meditation on presence, scale, and the boundaries between the individual and the universe. Available as Framed Matte Canvas & Framed Art Print.
Curator’s Note: This artwork is available in two distinct formats. For an intimate, sharply detailed display, choose the Framed Art Print. If your space demands a large-scale, deeply textured statement piece, we highly recommend our Framed Matte Canvas.

The Story Behind

There is a point in deep stillness when the boundary between the self and the world can begin to feel less definite. Stillness Beyond Form imagines that moment as a visual transformation. The figure begins as something solid and finite, while the universe surrounding it feels fluid and without edges. Slowly, the two begin to merge. Stone becomes dust, dust becomes light, and light becomes part of the surrounding constellation. The work does not present disappearance as an ending. Instead, it asks where one form truly ends and another begins. At the center remains a quiet, meditating presence—a reminder that even within the immense scale of the cosmos, stillness can carry its own gravity.

Meaning & Symbolism

  • Meditating Buddha — contemplation, presence, and inward stillness.
  • Dissolving form — the changing boundary between individual identity and the wider universe.
  • Stars and nebulae — infinity, mystery, deep time, and the unknown.
  • Blue and silver — spaciousness, calm, and introspection.
  • Gold light — warmth, illumination, and awareness.
  • Stone-like texture — weight, age, permanence, and grounded presence.
  • Fragmentation — transformation rather than literal destruction.

Size Guide

The right artwork changes the character of a room. Choose a size that gives the work enough presence to breathe within your space.

For the most balanced display, choose artwork that spans approximately 60–75% of the width of the furniture beneath it. If you're deciding between two sizes, the larger option often creates a more refined, gallery-inspired interior.
